The paper examines the changes in the carpet industry due to the effect of globalisation by highlighting the changes in the use of the technology at the three stages of the carpet production namely designing, dyeing and weaving. The proposed paper examines the technological change in the carpet production process. The paper examines that the traditional mode of production is replaced with a new mode of production in the carpet industry. The paper examines the replacement of kath with khaddi, nakshakari with computer-aided designing and bhatta with boiler-dyeing plant.Downloads
