This working paper describes the efforts of making mother tongue-based multilingual education possible at the ground level. It takes a position that in Indian context, democracy can be considered ‘good’ if diverse ethnicities, multiple cultures and varied languages are included in the education system. The organisation in this paper demonstrates an example of such inclusion in primary grades of schooling. The suggestions are for policy makers and the implementers.Downloads
